Unable to trace a Catholic nun, allegedly raped at K Nuagaon in Kandhamal during a bandh on August 25, the Orissa government on Monday decided to send a police team to Delhi to locate her.

The nun, missing since the incident and had reportedly taken shelter at a church in Delhi, was not found when Additional Resident Commissioner M Satyanarayan went there on Sunday night, Home Secretary T K Mishra told PTI.

Satyanarayan has also been asked to take the help of the archbishop of Delhi, Mishra said.

The home secretary said the crime branch of police, which was probing the case, would also seek help of the nun's family so that she returned to Orissa to cooperate with the investigation.

"The government will bear all the expenses of the nun's family, if they come forward to help in tracing her," Mishra said.

A lady IPS officer will head the team which is being sent to Delhi.

Besides placing a police officer under suspension on the charge of negligence in acting on the FIR filed by the nun, the police have arrested four persons in this connection.
