Singh had accused a leading industrialist and a journalist politician for conspiring with top bureaucrats of the prime minister's office for engineering his phone tapping.
"I have given the names to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh," Singh told newspersons. Singh has been contacting various chief ministers including Miss J Jayalalithaa for mustering support for his cause.
Talking to rediff.com, Shukla said that Amar Singh was in the habit of living in media limelight.
"I have nothing to do with the phone tapping incident. Whatever his claims are, they are lies. I am not aware of any cassette or its contents. He has been shifting his stand from day one.
"One day he accused the congress president Sonia Gandhi, the next day it was the national security advisor M K Narayanan and then came Mrs Ambika Soni and now it is me. This is ridiculous. I think the best thing under the circumstances is to simply ignore the man who is trying to hog the limelight in the television and print media by making such baseless allegations," an indignant Shukla said.
