One held for violence by Ranvir Sena supporters

One person was on Sunday held in connection with the violence and arson by Ranvir Sena supporters during the funeral procession of sena chief Brahmeswar Singh on June 2 even as photos of 20 suspects of the violence were released for identification, police said.

Subhash was arrested from a locality here following his identification on the basis of photograph in the cases lodged at various police stations in connection with large-scale violence and arson by the Ranvir Sena supporters last week, Superintendent of police (Rural) Manoj Kumar said.

He said the photos of 20 more suspects have been released of which the identity of six of them have been ascertained, while the cooperation of the people have been requested for identification of the remaining accused persons.

Meanwhile, Additional Director General of Police, Law and Order, S K Bharadwaj visited Ara, the headquarter of Bhojpur district, to review the security arrangements in Khopira village for the 'Shraddh' ceremony of the slain chief to be held on June 13.

A magistrate with adequate policemen will be deployed in the village to maintain law and order during the 'Shraddh' function of the slain sena chief, he said after returning to Patna.
