The Karnataka high Court on Friday ordered issue of notices to the Lokayukta police and the complainants in two anticipatory bail applications filed by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa in two private complaints filed before the Lokayukta court in alleged land scam cases.

When the applications came up for hearing before Justice H Billappa, he ordered issue of notices to Lokayukta police and also the complainants, Jayakumar Hiremath and Ravishankar Reddy.

Yeddyurappa is one of the accused in the private complaint filed by Hiremath against Home Minister R Ashoka, alleging irregularities in denotification of 23 guntas of land in Lottegollahalli.

In the complaint lodged by Ravikrishna Reddy against Housing Minister V Somanna, Yeddyurappa has been named as one of the accused for allegedly denotifying 22 guntas of land in Kengeri hobli in favour of Somanna's wife Shailaja.

The Lokayukta court has ordered probe in both the complaints.

Yeddyurappa has filed anticipatory bail pleas on the grounds that these complaints are initiated by his political opponents with an object to cause "humiliation" to him. The former chief minister has also undertaken to abide by the "reasonable conditions" imposed by the court in the event of being enlarged on bail.
