With the killing of five Indian soldiers by Pakistan Army along LoC looming large over the fate of a meeting between their Prime Ministers next month in the US, External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Thursday said it was not the "appropriate" time now to comment on possibility of such a meet.

Maintaining that he was not in a position to say anything as it was not the appropriate time, Khurshid told reporters, "Let's wait for the appropriate time and we can take a call after all the inputs have to be brought in."

He was asked if the meeting between Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif will take place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meet next month in New York as was scheduled earlier.

Pakistani troops attacked an Indian post along the Line of Control in the Poonch sector in Jammu and Kashmir late on Monday night, killing five soldiers.

The Pakistani soldiers intruded into the Indian territory past midnight and ambushed the Sarla post on the Indian side of the LoC, defence ministry sources said.
