Exactly a week after his daylight abduction in Noida, three-year-old Anant Gupta was on Monday back among his friends and got a hero's welcome at school.

Anant attended the Lotus Valley School, where he is a pre-nursery student, as sweets and chocolates were distributed to celebrate his return.

The boy, who was in tears, reached the school along with his father Naresh Gupta, CEO of Adobe India, and was welcomed by authorities with a bouquet as a battery of mediapersons looked on.

Police, meanwhile, stepped up hunt for Pawan and two other accused in the case as part of their investigation and, provided security to the Gupta family.

Teams have been sent to several places including Hardoi in search of the remaining accused, police said, a day after they claimed to have worked out the high-profile case by arresting the alleged mastermind Chhatrapal Singh.

Police have so far arrested three persons, including Jitendra, the brother of Chhatrapal Singh, in connection with the case. The third arrested is identified as Vijay Pal Chauhan.

Chattrapal has admitted that he along with Pawan kidnapped the child for ransom.

Police produced Chhatrapal before the court of chief judicial magistrate in Noida, which remanded him to 14 days in judicial custody.
