Swami Nithyananda who was arrested at Solan in Himachal Pradesh for his alleged role in a sex scandal was brought down to Bengaluru on Thursday. Sporting a safrron robe, a rudraksh in his hand and a smile on the face the godman who has remained elusive all these days landed at around 1900 hrs with a police team at the Bengaluru airport.

He was taken directly to Ramnagar, where the cases against him are lodged and will remain in police custody. The forest department will question the godman in connection with the illegal
storage of sandal wood at his Bidadi ashram.

Meanwhile his legal team is preparing to file a bail application before the Ramnagar court. Earlier an anticipatory bail application had been filed but had to be withdrawn as infructitious following the arrest.
