The National Investigation Agency has let off two of the four persons who were detained in Beed in the last two days, sources said. Unani doctor Rehan Shaikh and Abdul Rahim were allowed to go after questioning late Thursday night.

A team of NIA and Maharashtra ATS conducted searches at various places in the city over the last two days and detained Dr Rehan Shaikh, Wasim Chishti, Zakiuddin Nizamoddin and Abdul Rahim.

Earlier, police sources had said that four computers, a printer, some CDs and maps were seized from Shaikh's house in Kazi Nagar area of city.

On whether the detention was related to the recent Pune blasts or the 26/11 attacks, Beed Superintendent of Police Dattatray Mandlik said, "It was a routine check-up by NIA which has been carrying out searches in connection with terror cases."

The 26/11 attacks handler and LeT operative Syed Zabiuddin Ansari alias Abu Jundal, who was arrested in June, hailed from Beed district.
