The Bombay high court will deliver its verdict Wednesday on the anticipatory bail plea of suspended Sub-Inspector of police Daya Nayak, his wife Komal and associate Rajendra Padte who are fearing arrest in a disproportionate assets case.

Arguments concluded Tuesday on the petition filed by Nayak, Komal and Padte and Justice V M Kanade started dictating the order, but it could not be delivered because of want of time.

The matter has been adjourned till Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the interim protection granted to the trio from being arrested in the case will continue till Wednesday.

The state of Maharashtra, opposing their bail plea, contended that theĀ Anti-Corruption Bureau needed custodial interrogation of Nayak and others and submitted that there was prima facie evidence against them.

Nayak, Komal and Padte argued that their custodial interrogation was not required and that they were falsely implicated in the case.

Nayak is facing the charge of possessing assets disproportionate to known sources of income while Komal and Padte are alleged to have helped Nayak in laundering his ill-gotten wealth.
