An Indian national, who flew in from Mumbai, was arrested at the Kuala Lumpur airport for carrying 10 kg of narcotics worth Rs two crore in his luggage, media reports said on Thursday.
Malaysian police said that the 34-year-old had camouflaged 10 kg of Ketamine, worth Rs two crore (1.8 million ringgit), as flour.
Narcotics chief Nordin Hassan Kadir said that police noticed the Indian national behaving suspiciously in the baggage collection area, when passengers from Bombay were waiting for their bags on Sunday.
"The suspect waited for all the passengers to collect their bags before he collected his and was the last to leave from that flight," Nordin said.
The police from the narcotics division informed Customs officers, who stopped him for frisking, reports said.
"They found packets and boxes of food with labels reading 'Anil Rava And Anil Puttu Flour'. Checks revealed that the powder in the bag was actually 10 kg of Ketamine," he said. The suspect has been remanded till Sunday to help investigations.
Earlier this month, a 27-year-old Indian national was detained at the airport for carrying 10 kg of Ketamine in his luggage.
Nordin said the police believed that the same syndicate was involved in both cases as they used the same kind of packaging for the drug.
In February, two Indian nationals were arrested with 54 kgs of Ketamine at the airport.
