May 15, 2009 17:11 IST

Two doctors, who treated Mumbai terror attack's prime accused Mohammed Ajmal Amir Kasab for injuries sustained in the police firing, on Friday identified him in the trial court.

"He is the one who was brought to the trauma ward of Nair hospital when I was on duty in the early hours on November 27," doctor Yogita Delkar, chief medical officer of Nair hospital said, pointing at Kasab.

The doctor told Special Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam that she had prepared the Out Patient Department papers of Kasab and wrote down his age as 25 years.

Venkat Ramamurthy, another doctor, said he had treated Kasab in the trauma ward on that day. Kasab had sustained injuries in his left arm.

In such a condition, a person can handle an AK-47 rifle, he told prosecutor Nikam. The doctor was asked by the court to take the rifle and see whether it can be handled by a person with injuries like the ones Kasab had.
