Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader L K Advani has demanded setting an inquiry commission to go in to the failure of various government agencies leading to the terrorist attack of Mumbai and a judicial inquiry in to the "political dimension" of country's biggest corporate fraud in Satyam Computers.
Addressing a "Vijay Sankalp Rally" in Vijaywada city of Andhra Pradesh on Wednesday evening Advani made a blistering attack on the Congress led United Progressive Alliance government for its failure on all the fronts including the security and for its involvement in corruption.
Recalling that after the attack on Mumbai, country's home minister and Maharashtra's chief minister and deputy chief minister had resigned and the prime minister and the new home minister had apologized to the people of Mumabi for failure in protecting them, Advani said that it was first time that no inquiry was set up after such a monumental tragedy and blunder by the government.
"I demand that a commission of inquiry should be set up to probe all aspects of the failure that took place in Mumbai, all aspects relating to the Intelligence Bureau, Research and Analysis Wing, Navy and local police", he said.
Paying his tributes to the policemen who laid down their lives in fight against terrorists, he said, "A lot needs to found out what went amiss and who were responsible for all that happened". He expressed surprised that no body was even talking about an inquiry in to the Mumbai attack.
