Mumbai: Slain 26/11 police officer's daughter gets government job

Union Home Minister P Chidambaram said in a statement on Thursday that the daughter of slain 26/11 police officer Vijay Salaskar, Divya, has been given a job in the Maharashtra sales tax department.

The statement recalled that Divya Salaskar had approached the home minister during a television interview with a complaint that her application for a job was being delayed.

In the statement that was released on Thursday, Chidamabaram said that he had been informed by Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan that Divya had been appointed as assistant commissioner in the Maharashtra sales tax department.
