The state government has fixed 11.30 pm as the deadline for shutting down loudspeakers and winding up dandiya raas celebrations in Mumbai.

This deadline will apply for only for four days while for the rest of the days, the celebrations would have to be wound up by 10.30 pm as per the central government's guidelines, an official release quoting Deputy Chief Minister Chhagan Bhujbal said in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The government will keep a tight control on the number of people at each event and 'overcrowding will not be allowed', Bhujbal told a delegation of organisers from Mumbai, Pune, Bhiwandi, Navi Mumbai and Thane on Tuesday.

Security would be tight in view of the terrorist threat perception to the city, he told them.

Bhujbal also told the organisers to deploy private security and install metal detectors, the release added.
