Dismissing the Hindu Jagran Vedike's version that there was a rave party on at the home stay in Mangalore, the police said that investigations have revealed that it was a birthday party.

It appears as though the Hindu Jagran Vedike got their act wrong. They entered into a home stay and beat up women on the pretext that they were part of a rave party. However, now the Karnataka police has rejected the version that there was a rave party on at the home stay in Mangalore.

Additional Director General of Police Law and Order Bipin Gopalkrishna informed that it was a birthday party and not a rave party at the home stay 'Morning Mist'. "Our investigations have shown that there was a birthday being celebrated. The party got over at 7 pm," he said.

Gopalkrishna said that there were in all eight boys and five girls at the party.

Members of the HJV had claimed that there was a rave party going on at the home stay. They barged into the party and mercilessly beat up the girls. The incident occurred around 7.45 pm on Saturday.

The police say that the investigations were on and eight persons have been arrested.
