After successfully concluding his two-day visit to the United States, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday left for the final leg of his five-nation tour to Mexico.

‘After two days of a fruitful US visit, PM emplanes for Mexico (sic),’ tweeted the Prime Minister’s Office.

Ministry of External Affairs official Spokesperson Vikas Swarup also tweeted, ‘Thank you again America! A successful visit ends as PM takes the long way home, via Mexico City.’

Prior to his departure, the prime minister attended a Congressional reception hosted jointly by Foreign Relation Committees (House and Senate) and India Caucus (House and Senate).

Just before the Congressional reception, he met the Indian community members.

But, the highlight of the day was his address at the joint session of the US Congress at Capitol Hill, where he lauded the bonds between the two nations, saying that freedom and liberty were the key elements that strengthened ties between them, adding that both countries had overcome the hesitations of history.
