Modi hails Nehru, asks youth to imbibe his scientific temper

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday hailed Jawaharlal Nehru and said the youth should take inspiration from him and imbibe his scientific temper.

Chairing the 41st AGM of Nehru Memorial Museum and Library Society in New Delhi, he said the institution should attempt to reflect the thoughts of India's great leaders such as Nehru on contemporary themes such as good governance, a Prime Minister’s Office statement said.

He said the youth of India could take tremendous inspiration from great leaders who made this nation. In particular, he emphasized the need for the youth to imbibe Pt Nehru's scientific temper, it said.

Modi suggested that the NMML should attempt to maximise the use of technology to achieve a global presence.

The work of NMML should also be expanded to various Indian languages to better reflect the diversity of India, he said.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Minister of State (Independent Charge) Culture Mahesh Sharma were present at the meeting.
