Janata Dal - United national president and National Democratic Alliance convener Sharad Yadav on Saturday said he was of the opinion that there were no possibilities of mid-term Lok Sabha polls in the immediate future.

"It is not right for me to comment on whatever he (Samajwadi Party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav) has said, that only he can tell in detail...but according to my point of view, mid-term elections are nowhere visible as of now," Yadav told reporters when asked to comment on Mulayam expressing the possibility of mid-term polls.

He said that only the SP supremo can discuss in detail how mid-term polls were possible.

Mulayam Singh Yadav, whose party SP rescued the United Progressive Alliance government in Parliament during crucial votes this week, had on Friday talked about the possibility of early Lok Sabha polls.

In a reply to a media query, Sharad said that Congress, which is the largest constituent of the United Progressive Alliance, has suffered a big jolt after the poll results in five states.

"The party has suffered a big jolt and it will definitely make an impact on the Centre...but in what shape and at what time I cannot say, but there will definitely be an impact," he added.

On the Lokpal Bill, the JD-U president said that the fight against corruption continues and as far as the law is concerned, it would be framed only when there is a consensus on the issue.

"There are differences as of now, discussions and debate are being held on the issue of Lokpal," he said.
