Meet the 'hot' Ukrainian MP who knows nothing about Ukraine

December 09, 2014 10:02 IST

While the recently-elected Ukrainian Parliament battles strife on its eastern borders amid financial turmoils, one of nation’s legislators has been creating waves around the world with her charms.

Elena Kosheleva, who represents the Radical Party, is today Ukraine’s most discussed legislator.

Oleh Lyashko, the leader of the Radical Party apparently discovered Kosheleva on VK (Russia’s largest social network), reports Vocativ.com.

The report further says those who disapprove of Kosheleva’s nomination point out that maybe -- just maybe -- Lyashko was somewhat more interested in her provocative Facebook photos than her position on, say, the economy. It’s unclear.

Kosheleva -- who has degrees from the Economics Cybernetics department at the Kharakiv National University of Radioelectronics and from the Kharakiv National University of Architecture -- caused a scandal on November 27 when she couldn’t answer journalists' basic questions on Ukraine’s political system, Vocativ added.
