Two assailants on a motorcycle opened fire inside Film City in Goregaon in suburban Mumbai on Friday, very close to where megastar Amitabh Bachchan was shooting, leaving the owner of a security agency critically injured.

Bachchan, who said the incident took place just 20 feet from where he was shooting, tweeted that a person was killed in the "gangwar shootout".

According to police, the assailants struck around 2 pm at one of Mumbai's most favoured shooting locations.

Raju Shinde, 45, the owner of the security agency, who was seated on a chair under a tree was shot at. He was grievously injured and taken to Nanavati Hospital, police said. The two assailants are yet to be identified. Shinde is also an office bearer of Shiv Sena's film wing, Chitrapat Sena.

Shinde received two bullets injuries in his abdomen and one on the right hand, said additional commissioner of police Fateh Singh Patil. After the firing, the assailants were chased by another security guard, but both managed to flee leaving their motorcycle in the thickly wooded area near Aarey milk colony," he said. "We have seized the motorcycle. We are finding out the details," Patil added.

Meanwhile, Bachchan tweeted, "Okay! Shooting at Film City... and a gang war shootout 20 feet from where we are... 1 dead.. cops all over." It is not clear what the actor was filming when the incident took place. He has been working out at the gym for an untitled film but is yet to reveal the details about the project.
