Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel said on Wednesday that the impasse between the Congress and the Nationalist Congres Party over formation of government in Maharashtra will end on a positive note by Thursday.

"The talks between Congress and NCP are in final stages and the impasse will end on a positive note by tomorrow. The swearing-in ceremony may take place within the next 48 hours," Patel, who was in Nagpur to launch Deccan 360 logistic hub, told reporters.

The senior NCP leader said there were some issues which are being sorted out. "Chief Minister Designate and Deputy Chief Minister designate are already in the office as caretaker. There is nothing unusual in the delay," he said recalling similar delay in government formation in the state after assembly polls in 1999 and 2004.

Referring to alliance between Congress and NCP, he said, "we have fought together and will form the government together which will be stable." Patel dismissed reports regarding BJP's alleged offer to senior state NCP leader Ajit Pawar to become the Maharashtra Chief Minister saying there was no such offer and the reports are untrue.
