Maharashtra CM tones down rhetoric against Sena

After threatening to withdraw Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray's security, Maharashtra Chief Minister Ashok Chavan on Wednesday said the Sena- Shah Rukh Khan controversy should be resolved by 'mutual understanding'.

Talking to reporters, Chavan said "The row should be resolved by mutual understanding."

He said though law and order is primarily the state government's responsibility, other political parties should also think over it.

On reports that the advance booking for 'My Name is Khan' is being closed my multiplex owners apparently due to Sena threats, Chavan said the police are taking care of their security concerns.

"The police are taking care of the security issue to ensure that no untoward incident takes place," he said.

Shah Rukh is in the line of fire from Shiv Sena for favouring the inclusion of Pakistani players in the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League. The movie is scheduled to be released on February 12.
