Anna Hazare is plotting a comeback

Advocating demolition of party system, Anna Hazare has said that a "second war of Independence" would come about with an organisation to be launched after the Lok Sabha elections which would be successful by 2019 or 2024.

"After 2014 general elections, the name of the organisation, to be set up by people of good character, will be made public in every state at district level and taluka level. We will get success by 2019, else by 2024 by demolishing the party system," the anti-graft crusader said.

Seeking dismissal of all political parties in the country, the "second war of independence" would establish people's rule replacing "contractor and corporate" driven governments, Hazare told media persons after addressing a farmers' convention 'Jai Kisan Mahasamabesh'.

"We got Independence in 1947, but the rule of the people never came. Parties did not allow democracy to arrive in the country," the anti-graft crusader said.

Holding some political parties responsible for rise in corruption, terrorism, adultery and bullying, Hazare said they should have been dismissed after Independence.

"Mahatma Gandhi had appealed to Congress leaders to dismiss the party. According to the Constitution, citizens of good character should contest elections and citizens should elect individuals of good character and send them to Parliament," he said.

Hazare said that in 1952 the country faced the first general elections, but without parties being dismissed.

"These parties unconstitutionally contested the elections and in an unconstitutional way entered Parliament. Inside Parliament and outside groups of parties formed to gain power and wealth. They also started blaming each other," Hazare claimed.

Stating that such parties did not allow democracy, he said that democracy run by the people through participation vanished from the country.

Hazare said that Lok Sabha should have been of the people, in reality.

According to the Constitution, any citizen could contest elections and if citizens of good character were sent to Parliament this could have been the session of the people, he said.

Hazare said, "Today Lok Sabha has not remained an association of people but an association of parties. Today maximum people sitting in Parliament are of such parties and not the representatives of people. How can we say this is the rule of people?"

"According to the Constitution, if people of good character were elected to Parliament, then the monster of corruption would not have risen," he said and appealed to voters to take an oath to vote for persons of good character instead of parties.
