Rediff gets the new ministers' portfolios right!

The Rashtrapati Bhavan communicated the portfolios of the newly sworn in ministers on Tuesday morning.

As per the list, Rajnath Singh is home minister, Arun Jaitley the finance minister, and Sushma Swaraj is the external affairs minister.

First-time Lok Sabha MP Nitin Gadkari is minister for road transport, which we had reported in our Live Commentary yesterday at 11.06 am.

M Venkaiah Naidu is the new urban development minister, which we had reported at 11.26 am yesterday.

BJP veterans L K Advani, MM Joshi and Arun Shourie do not find a place in the Union Cabinet, which we had reported at 11.57 am yesterday.

Nirmala Seetharaman is minister for commerce and industry, which we had reported at 12.27 pm yesterday, stating also that Smriti Irani will be HRD minister, Dharmendra Pradhan will be petroleum minister, and Sadananda Gowda will get railways.

Uma Bharti is minister for Ganga rejuvenation, which we had reported at 1.04 pm yesterday.

Radha Mohan Singh is the agriculture minister with Sanjeev Baliyan as mis MoS, which had reported at 13.09 pm yesterday.

At 13.07 pm yesterday we had also reported that the Shiv Sena’s Anant Geete, Akali Dal’s Harsimrat Kaur Badal and the Telugu Desam Party’s Ashok Gajapathi Raju will enter the Union Council of Ministers, which has come true.
