Who will Congressmen blame for defeat?

Even before the first votes are counted, the Congress seems to be crumbling in defeat.

A day after exit polls suggested that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance will achieve its best-ever tally while the United Progressive Alliance will register its worst-ever performance in the elections, the blame game has started in the Congress.

First indication of this was evident on Tuesday when Union minister Kamal Nath rejected suggestions that a likely poor show in the elections will be a reflection on Rahul Gandhi's leadership, saying that the latter was never part of the UPA government.

Instead, he chose to pin the blame on the Manmohan Singh-led government for not being able to convey to the people its programmes and all the good work it was doing, a line of thinking that will no doubt be picked up by others in the party.

Who do you think Congressmen will blame for their electoral debacle? Take our poll!
