Asking people to vote and choose an honest government this Lok Sabha elections, noted flautist Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia has said that he "did not see any wave, anywhere" in the country.
"I do not see any wave anywhere. People who create a lot of noise attract attention and those who work silently are regarded as weak and foolish," Chaurasia told mediapersons when asked if there was a 'Modi wave' in the country.
Chaurasia participated in a voter awareness programme in Agra on Sunday evening and urged people to exercise their franchise without fear and prejudice. Speaking at the Taj Nature Walk, situated on an upland overlooking the Taj Mahal, the music legend enthralled the audience by playing many melodies from various Indian ragas.
Programmes such as this were necessary to raise the polling percentage for the formation of a good government, he said. Chaurasia was greeted with applause, as he began his recital with raag Madhumati, following it up with Raga Bhopali and Raga Pahari. 'Jashn-e-Taj', a disc, for encouraging people to vote was also released at the function.
The artist said that people should choose an honest government that is focused on development and education.
