Despite differences, BJP and TDP put up a united front

It was a picture of unity at Mahboobnagar where Bharatiya Janata Party prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and Telugu Desam Party Chandrababu Naidu shared the stage.

Naidu was seen garlanding Modi and both leaders shook hands giving out a message that the two parties stood united despite several differences.

Naidu made a very cautious speech and did not mention the Telangana sentiment as it could have hampered his vote bank in Seema-Andhra where he has a realistic chance.

Naidu said that the Telangana region could be developed only under the National Democratic Alliance. “The TDP will help make Modi prime minister as it is the need of the hour. Only Modi can ensure development of the country,” he said. Naidu also called on the people to make the right choice and not trust the Congress.

Modi on the other hand continued from where he left off in Nizambad and Karimnagar.

He called on the people to defeat the Congress. “Telangana needs a government and Delhi can make a difference to them,” said Modi.

Taking a dig at Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, who said he will improve the living condition of the farmers, Modi asked why he was sleeping for ten years. What was he busy with? Was he busy with jija seva? (service to his brother-in-law Robert Vadra)

“Mother and son have ruined the government. In Telangana I hear a father-daughter is trying to rule. Wipe out dynasty from Telangana and this will help you,” Modi also said.
