Russian President Vladimir Putin and his wife Ludmila greet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh before the grand military parade at the Red Square in Moscow on Monday.

The parade marked the beginning of celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of the allied victory over Nazi Germany in World War II. Nearly 60 heads of state and government and other leading international dignitaries are taking part in the festivities in Moscow.

This is the second meeting between the two leaders in six months. Putin visited Delhi in December.

Moscow is keen to push for the joint production of MiG 29s and also wants to boost cooperation in the nuclear energy sector.

President A P J Abdul Kalam is expected to visit Moscow in two weeks.
