January 13, 2009 16:35 IST

Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray was one of the guests at the Prati-Kolhapur Festival, which was held at Shivaji Park in Mumbai on Monday.

The event was organised by Thackeray's friend and state Minister for Non-Renewable Energy and Horticulture Vinay Kore.

A variety of programmes, set in the backdrop of an aesthetically decorated stage, highlighted the rich cultural heritage of Kolhapur.

Over one lakh people attended the festival, which also offered various flavours of Kolhapur, from misal to tamra-panra rassa.

Various other celebrities including former cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin, producer Rajeev Kore, composer Abu Malik and singer Suresh Wadkar attended the festival.

Thackeray, who donned a traditional Kolhapuri headgear for the occasion, was his usual fiery self.
