Michael Adebolajo, one of the two men accused of killing a British army man on a London street last month in broad daylight, called himself a "soldier" during a court appearance.

Adebolajo, 28, who appeared at the Central Criminal Court by video link from prison, interrupted the proceedings several times and complaining that prison staff had wanted to see his genitals.

He said: "I'm a man, I'm a soldier, I'm a British citizen. And you can't see my privates."

Adebolajo and 22-year-old Michael Adebowale have been charged with killing British soldier Lee Rigby on a London street on May 22.
