Probe Madani's wife's role in bus-burning case, says court

The Aluva magistrate court in Kerala has directed the police to conduct a detailed investigation on the role played by the wife of the PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani in in the Kalamassery bus burning incident a couple of years ago.

The court gave the direction following a public interest litigation filed by one P.Ramachandran after repeated pleas to the police on the same fell on deaf ears.

The court also directed the police to submit a report by June 1.

There were reports in the media that the Keralites, who were caught from Kashmir and Hyderabad attending terror classes, named Sufiya Madani's involvement in the bus- burning incident and this has prompted the court to give directive to the police.

Reports indicate that the state home ministry is going slow on the probe against Madani's wife ever since the PDP entered a tie-up with the CPI-M in Ponnani for the Lok Sabha polls.  

Party secretary Pinarayi Vijayan and Home Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan have been repeatedly saying that Madani is a changed person and that there is no element of terror or fundamentalist ideology in him.
