Lalu, Sharad Yadav admitted to AIIMS

December 20, 2013 20:45 IST

Rashtriya Janata Dal chief Lalu Prasad and Janata Dal-United president Sharad Yadav were on Friday admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences in New Delhi after they complained of uneasiness.

While Prasad's blood pressure was found to be a little high, Yadav's blood sugar level had increased, doctors said, adding that the two leaders are under observation.

Prasad, who arrived in the national capital on Friday, was released on bail on Monday two-and-a-half months after he was convicted in a fodder scam case and sentenced to a five-year imprisonment.

He felt unwell while talking to reporters as soon as he arrived in New Delhi.

He was taken to AIIMS at 3.30 pm where he underwent a general check up at Cardio Thoracic Centre.

"His blood pressure was found to be little high. He is undergoing a routine check up and is under observation," doctors attending to him said.

JD-U general secretary Javed Raza said that Sharad Yadav was admitted in AIIMS at 11 am after he complained of uneasiness and a routine examination showed that his sugar level was high.

"There were variations in sugar level of Yadav for last two days after which it was decided to admit him in the hospital. Doctors have put him under observation," Raza said.
