Militants on Sunday night snatched four rifles and half a dozen magazines from a police post in Kulgam district in south Kashmir.

A senior police officer said a group of militants barged into the post manned by four cops deployed for guarding members of the minority community in Adijan village of Kulgam.

“Militants snatched two self-loading rifles, two INSAS rifles and six magazines from the post,” the officer said.

He told rediff.com that the cops along with their guard commander were detained by the police for questioning on Sunday morning.

A hunt has been launched for the militants.
