Kejriwal to address Columbia University

December 04, 2014 20:31 IST

Former Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal will be delivering a speech at Columbia University in New York on December 7.

The Aam Aadmi Party has left for a five-day trip to Dubai and New York on Thursday. Kejriwal will be in Dubai till Saturday evening, from where he will proceed to New York.

The anti-corruption activist has denied that the events which he will be attending in Dubai is not for fund-raising, as was reported by a section of the media.

A controversy has also been created about Kejriwal’s travel. Reacting to the controversy, AAP issued a statement saying that the programme details for the trip has been made public and that the tickets have been arranged by his IIT batchmates and organizers.

The party is surprised at the attempts to rake up an unnecessary issue when all details are in the public domain and all details about the trip have already been provided.

The AAP puts all details about its funds and sources from where it is generated in the public domain and challenges other political parties to reveal their sources of funds.

The party was recently targeted by the Bharatiya Janata Party, which says it has not given out the names of funders and the amount of money raised in the two fund-raisers in India.
