Aam Aadmi Party on Friday asked suspended IAS officer Durga Shakti Nagpal to resign from the central services and contest election against Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayum Singh Yadav from his Mainpuri parliamentary constituency.

"It's ironical that she is seeking justice from the same corrupt system, against which she fought and which is against her. AAP would suggest, if she really wants to fight the system, she should resign from the service and the party would provide her ticket to contest from Manipuri parliamentary constituency against Samajwadi Party Chief Mulayum Singh Yadav," AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal told reporters.

He assured that his party would be ensure that she wins and goes to Parliament and makes laws that would protect an honest officer against the actions of a corrupt government.

If she is ready, the AAP would organise a survey in Mainpuri to fathom her acceptability among the residents of Mulayum's constituency, he added.

Nagpal, 28, a 2010 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre, was suspended on July 27 ostensibly for ordering demolition of wall of a mosque without following the due process.

Her suspension evoked sharp reaction from opposition parties, including Bharatiya Janata Party and Bahujan Samaj Party, who alleged that she was removed for her action against sand mafia operating in Gautam Budh Nagar area of the state.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav defended her suspension claiming that action was taken against her for demolishing the wall of a mosque without consulting seniors and not for preventing illegal sand mining.

The Aam Aadmi Party also alleged the involvement of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Diskhit in the transport scam and said it will set up Janlokpal as suggested by Anna Hazare to probe "power, water and transport scams" if voted to power.

"According to various surveys, it's clear that AAP would be forming the government in November and the first thing it would do is to set up Janlokpal, as suggested by Anna Hazare. "It will probe three scams related to power, water and transport and come out with result in six months to a year and those guilty would be sent to jail," AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal told reporters.
