India sends supplies for Katrina victims

An Indian Air Force aicraft brought 25 tons of relief supplies to the United States for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The Ilyushin aircraft, which landed at Little Rock in Arkansas on Thursday, carried several essential items including 3000 blankets, bed sheets and tarpaulins.

Earlier, Indian Ambassador to the US, Ronen Sen, handed over a cheque of  $5 million to the Red Cross for the ongoing relief operations for the victims of the hurricane that ravaged the Gulf Coast in August.
