Tears welled in her eyes and she hugged her mother but soon the normally-composed Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam MP Kanimozhi lost her cool and asked journalists to leave her alone in the court which rejected her bail application.

Dressed in an orange salwar kameez, Kanimozhi wept and hugged her mother Rajathi Ammal minutes after special Central Bureau of Investigation judge O P Saini rejected her bail plea in the 2G case.

Apart from her husband, son and mother, DMK leaders T R Baalu, T K S Elangovan, Durai Murugan, Vasanthi Stalin, actress Khushboo and supporters gathered inside the courtroom.

Her supporters, dressed in complete white, surrounded her and family in an expression of solidarity. "I am here to support Kanimozhi, I do not want to comment anything right now as I am in a state of shock," Khushboo said.

Later, Kanimozhi vented her anger on waiting mediapersons asking them to leave the court room. "...Are you not human beings? Why are you people standing here? Please leave from here," she exclaimed.

Her husband G Aravindan was shocked and furious over the verdict and was heard saying to one of the advocates, "What does this (order denying bail) mean?"

Relatives of the other accused criticised the legal system. "What is this? When even CBI was not opposing the bail plea then why the judge denied them bail," said a relative of Bollywood producer Karim Morani, denied bail even on health grounds.

Morani's daughter Zoya Morani, who debuted in Shah Rukh Khan "Always Kabhie Kabhie" cried sitting next to her father.

Later, on instructions of the accused and their families, the lawyers and the court staff asked the mediapersons and DMK supporters to leave the courtroom.
