Kalam discusses terror with management students

In the wake of terrorist attacks in the capital and other parts of the country, former President APJ Abdul Kalam on Monday asked management students to study the factors behind scourge and launch a national campaign against the menace.

Speaking at the convocation function of the FORE School of Management in New Delhi, Kalam said management students can take up a study and go into details of the factors behind the extremist acts. "You can take a lead role and create leadership required to address the issue," he said.

Kalam also favoured launching a national campaign for eradication of poverty to sensitise the public against terrorism. He stressed on equitable growth in the country so that people of all sections get the benefit of it.

Kalam had advocated a unified intelligence agency and stringent laws to handle terrorism. He had said the security agencies should be armed with latest technology.

 Kalam said development of rural sector and small and medium scale industries were key to the progress of the country. About 180 students were awarded diplomas and degrees on the occasion.
