Two days after 18-year-old Archana Saxena lost her job as a nurse in a private hospital for breaching President A P J Abdul Kalam's security cordon when he was touring Lucknow, the Rashtrapati Bhavan swung into action.
"This is the kind of publicity that we can do without," an official said after the President entrusted him with the task of looking into the matter.
Girl breaks president's security cordon | ... loses her Rs 900 pm job
President Kalam was upset when he saw a report in a leading national daily that the girl lost her job because of him.
"We have been in touch with Ms Aradhana Shukla, district magistrate of Lucknow, on this matter and she has assured that the girl and her family would not be harassed. A sub-divisional magistrate has been deputed for this job. Ms Shukla will talk to the employers of the girl and see to it that she gets back her job," he told rediff.com on Tuesday evening.
Archana was earning Rs 900 per month in the hospital.
Shukla is expected to get back to the Rashtrapati Bhavan with a report on the follow up action taken by the district administration.
