The 17-year-old minor boy who is an accused in the July 31 gang rape case was identified by the victim and her boyfriend, during an identification parade held at the juvenile remand home in South Mumbai, police said.

"Test Identification Parade was conducted at a juvenile remand home in South Mumbai's Dongri area where the 17-year-old accused is lodged. The victim, who is a telephone operator, identified the juvenile accused as one of the five culprits who had sexually assaulted her on July 31 in Shakti Mills compound. The victim's boyfriend has also identified the minor," a crime branch official said.

The 18-year-old girl was allegedly gang raped on July 31 by five men, three of who were also involved in the August 22 photojournalist gang rape case, the police said.

The three accused involved in both the cases are Salim Ansari, Vijay Jadhav, Mohammed Qasim and Hafiz Shaikh alias 'Kasim Bangali', who are currently in jail.

The police is yet to trace the fifth accused named Mohammed Ashfaque in the case.

During the TIP today, a group of people, including the minor who is an accused in the gang rape case, were queued up before the victim and her boyfriend, who identified him, the official said, adding that "the process was conducted under the supervision of a magistrate."

On August 22 evening, a photojournalist was sexually assaulted at the deserted Shakti Mills compound in Mahalaxmi, when she had gone there on an assignment with her male colleague. Within three days, the police nabbed all five accused in the case.

On September 3, another gang rape surfaced, after a telephone operator complained to the police that she too was gang raped by a group of five at Shakti Mills on July 31.
