Journalists were lathicharged on Saturday at the SSKM hospital while they were trying to take pictures of suspended Trinamool Congress leader and Saradha scam accused Kunal Ghosh.
The police lathicharged and beat the journalists who were trying to get a sound byte from Ghosh, who was discharged from the hospital after his alleged suicide attempt.
Ghosh was admitted to hospital on Friday morning after it was believed that he had consumed sleeping pills in a bid to commit suicide.
His actions came after he had earlier threatened to commit suicide when he was produced before the special Central Bureau of Investigation court probing the scam, demanding immediate arrest of those he said were actually involved in the scam.
While he was being brought out, journalists were waiting to take fresh pictures of Ghosh and talk to him. However, when the police escorting Ghosh saw the media, they refused to bring him out of the ambulance.
