Journalist shot dead in Uttar Pradesh

A local scribe was shot dead by motorcycle-borne miscreants in Dheena area, police said on Sunday.   

Hemant Yadav, 45, who worked with a news channel was shot by bike-borne miscreants on Saturday night, Superintendent of police Amit Verma said.

He was rushed to the government hospital where he died.

The body has been sent for post-mortem and following a complaint by the deceased's wife, an FIR has been registered against unidentified persons at Chandauli police station, Verma said.

Three special police teams have been formed to investigate the case at the earliest, the SP said, adding, some inputs have also been received and the case will be worked out soon.
