LeT, Jaish may be behind Pulwama massacre: Army

The army on Thursday claimed that Pakistan-based militant outfits Lashkar-e-Tayiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) were behind the recent massacre of 24 Kashmiri Pandits in Pulwama district.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of a CII Conference in Delhi, Vice Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Shantonu Choudhry said, "We know local terrorists cannot do this kind of act. Only foreign terrorists have done it and the two main groups are LeT and JeM."

"There is no doubt about these groups' involvement even though they have changed their names. Things will be clear in a couple of days," he said.

He did not hazard a guess on whether infiltration had increased or decreased. Terrorist camps still exist, "we know where the camps are," he said.
