Ten people, including five Lashkar-e-Toiba militants, were killed in separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir since Monday night.

Three LeT militants were killed in an encounter with security forces at Loktipora in Anantnag district on Monday night, a police spokesman said on Tuesday.

While two have been identified as Abdul Hamid and Abdul Bari, both local militants, the residents of the village alleged that the third was a civilian whom they identified as Aijaz Ahmad, a resident of nearby Husanpora.

Two other LeT militants, Abu Usman and Abu Saaksha of Pakistan, were killed by security forces in an encounter in Noushera area of Rajouri district during an operation, the spokesman said.

Hizbul Mujahideen militants killed Imtiyaz Ahmed of Balorya village in Udhampur district soon after kidnapping him from his house early in the day, he said.

The throat-slit body of Ahmed was found lying in a nearby forest area. People of the area took out demonstrations to protest the killing, the spokesman added.

He said ultras also abducted two boys, while two militants were arrested and another laid down arms.

A human head, identified as that of Ghulam Mohammad Khan, was recovered by police from Silikote in Kupwara district in the morning, official sources said.

Khan, a driver, had been missing for the past few months and police suspect the hand of militants in the killing, they said. Efforts were on to locate his torso.
