J&K: Major killed in accidental grenade explosion

An army major was killed Saturday in an accidental hand grenade explosion in north Kashmir's Kangan area of Ganderbal district.

A defence spokesman in Srinagar said that an enquiry had been ordered into the death of Major Joginder Shekhawat of 24 Rashtriya Rifles.

"An enquiry has been ordered into the incident and investigations are on," defence spokesman Lt Col J S Brar told rediff.com.
