J&K: Huge haul of arms recovered from hideout

The Jammu and Kashmir police on Monday in a major success recovered a huge haul of arms and ammunition from a militant hideout in north Kashmir.

A senior police officer told rediff.com that on specific information generated by the local police, a search operation was launched at Freshthar village near Kreeri in Baramulla district early on Monday

"During the search operation, a huge cache of arms and ammunition were recovered, which include one AK-47 rifle, two Chinese pistols, four high explosive bombs, 27 UBGL grenades, 27 Chinese grenades, 804 Pika ammunition, two 12-bore guns, three explosive sticks, one Kenwood wireless set, one UBGL launcher, 21 improvised explosive device circuits, 16 IED transformers, 13 IED batteries, 111 AK47 rounds, ten Chinese pistol rounds, ten AK-47 magazines and three Chinese magazines," the officer said.

"This is one of the major hauls of arms and ammunition recovered by the local police in recent months," he told rediff.com
