The state Congress on Wednesday lashed out at the National Conference for its statement that 'Delhi was hurling grenades in Kashmir'.
The chief spokesman of the NC, Dr Mustaffa Kamal who is also the uncle of the state chief minister, Omar Abdullah had on Tuesday said that 'Delhi was hurling grenades in Kashmir'.
In a statement, Dharm Pal Sharma, vice president of the state Congress party said, "We reject with contempt the accusation of Dr Mustafa Kamal that Delhihurled grenades in Kashmir. We can only say that only sick minds can give birth to such deplorable conceptions."
With Sharma's statement the war of words between the two coalition partners seems to have gained more steam.
The Congress leader also accused Kamal of levelling unfounded accusations against his party on the issue of Armed Forces Special Powers Act repeal.
"We condemn these remarks and ask National Conference leadership to take serious notice of Kamal's false accusations against Congress party."
"The public perception is that National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah are enjoying Kamal's deplorable statements against the Congress party, for, otherwise how could Mustafa Kamal be promoted as NC's chief spokesman after a series of unwarranted and condemnable statements against the Congress party, since the inception of the coalition."
