"I have felt bad about this news," Yadav said when asked whether the BJP's decision to allow Yeddyurappa, who faced severe criticism of the opposition in Karnataka for alleged irregularities in land allotment, to continue as CM.
The JD-U chief said he had told the BJP leadership "to decide over it as the fight against corruption should be straight forward and there should be no difference between our words and deeds on the issue." He said the developments in Karnataka have come at a time when the Opposition is waging a war against corruption.
On whether Yadav feels the same yardstick should have been applied to Yeddyurappa as was done in case of Ashok Chavan, who had to resign as the Maharashtra CM following the controversy over the Adarsh Housing Society scam, he replied in the affirmative.
"There should be one yardstick for both. There should be no different stands," Yadav said adding that he had already told the BJP that they should decide on the allegations concerning land allotment made against the Karnataka CM.
