Two persons, including a minor girl, died in a fire caused by a blast in a firecracker factory near Jalgaon in North Maharashtra on Tuesday, police said.

The blast-cum-fire incident, in which three persons received burn injuries, took place at Shri Hari Fataka Factory at village Karjai at around 1.30 pm, they said.

The deceased were identified as Meerabhai Shivdas Naik, 45, and Moni Arun Savarne, 12. While Meerabai worked in the factory, Moni, niece of one of the workers, had come there to give some message to her uncle, police said.

The reason of the blast was not yet known, a local police told PTI on phone, and added that the injured are out of danger.
