Jagan's judicial custody extended till March 20

The special Central Bureau of Investigation court in Hyderabad on Wednesday extended the judicial custody of Kadapa MP and YSR Congress chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy till March 20 in the disproportionate assets case against him.

Jagan, former minister Mopidevi Venkata Ramana Rao, industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad, senior bureaucrat K V Brahmananda Reddy (all accused in Vanpic aspect of the Jagan assets case) and other accused, lodged in Chanchalguda Central Prison, were produced before the court through video-conference.

CBI lawyer earlier completed arguments on framing of charges in one of the chargesheets; defence would argue on March 20.

Jaganmohan Reddy was arrested by CBI on May 27 last year. So far four chargesheets have been filed in the case.The CBI court also extended the judicial remand of former Karnataka minister Gali Janardhan Reddy, his brother-in-law B V Srinivas Reddy, and another accused Mehfuz Ali Khan in the Obulapuram Mining Company illegal mining case till March 20, after they were produced through video conference.

Janardhan Reddy and Khan are presently in Bangalore jail in connection with another mining-related case.

The court on Wednesday reserved its order on the application of suspended IAS officer Y Srilakshmi, seeking extension of her interim bail till March 18. Her bail would expire on March 20, and she wants extension on health grounds.

She is one of the accused in the OMC case. CBI, on March 7, informed the court that it had got Centre's sanction to prosecute her under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
